Cultural Diversity in the Kiwi workplace

Cultural Diversity in the Kiwi workplace

Understanding and managing cultural diversity in the kiwi workplace is a challenge newcomers and long-time managers can often grapple with. This is a cross-cultural communications workshop with follow up coaching, specifically designed for people with overseas backgrounds who are working in mainstream New Zealand organisations and/or engaging with a culturally diverse range stakeholders.

At times, they be perceived to be underperforming. We are increasingly coming across this observation in our coaching and facilitation. It seems that at times they are reluctant to take part in or contribute to office discussions or lack the confidence to speak up in meetings. Conversely they be perceived being too abrupt or “rude”.

Is this true of one of your staff members? Nice person but not as effective as they could be? Or effective at the technical aspects of their job but alienating others? It might just be possible that unvoiced cultural values towards authority, respect and speaking out may be at play.

Talk to us, we can help your staff to cross the unspoken cultural divide and to be more effective in representing your team and your organisation. Email: info@catalystpacific.co.nz
